Bishop Prof. Augustine Annor Yeboah (Called to Glory)

Bishop Prof. Augustine Annor Yeboah was the visionary founder of Christian Praise International Centre (CPIC), headquartered at Pigfarm, Accra, in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana

A devoted servant of God with a passion for global evangelism and spiritual transformation, he laid a strong foundation for a ministry committed to raising believers into maturity in Christ. Through his leadership, CPIC expanded beyond Ghana, establishing mission centres in Italy, Israel, Germany, the Netherlands, London, France, and the United States of America.

His life and ministry were anchored in a clear and compelling vision: to bring humanity to the fullness and stature of Christ. This vision continues to guide the mission, teachings, and global outreach of CPIC today.
Though he has been called to glory, his legacy lives on through the lives transformed, the churches planted, and the generations being raised to reflect Christ in character and purpose.

Nativity and Early Life

Bishop Prof. Augustine Annor-Yeboah was born on 22nd November 1950 in Dormaa Ahenkro, in the then Brong Ahafo Region of Ghana, to the late Nana David Kwasi Wianor, a farmer and Traditional Chief (Adankomahe of the Dormaa Traditional Area), and the late Madam Yaa Bosoma, also a farmer.

As a child, he suffered a severe illness that nearly claimed his life. His survival was attributed to a divine intervention through a mysterious man believed to be an angel who directed his mother to a herbal remedy that restored his health.

Early Training and Spiritual Transformation

Raised in a traditional environment deeply rooted in idol worship, young Annor-Yeboah was exposed to customary religious practices from childhood. His father, a devoted idol worshiper, intended to train him as a fetish priest. However, his mother’s conversion to Christianity dramatically changed the course of his life.

Following her decision to follow Christ, the family experienced hardship, including divorce and the loss of property. He and his younger brother were raised by their mother under difficult circumstances. Despite the struggles, this transition marked the beginning of a new spiritual journey.

He was dedicated to God in the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), where the officiating pastor became his spiritual mentor. Through his mother’s steadfast Christian faith and leadership in CAC, he developed a deep love for God and Scripture from an early age.

Though initially denied formal education, he later gained access to schooling. As a young boy, he demonstrated unusual spiritual maturity and leadership. At about age 12, he became the local secretary of CAC Kobedi Assembly, organizing conventions and earning the respect of church leaders and elders.

In 1969, he was baptized by immersion by Apostle Amoani in CAC and was christened Emmanuel, marking a significant milestone in his Christian journey.
He later became the thirteenth General Secretary of the Church in 1986 until he broke away from C.A.C. Int. to form to form his church, Christian Praise International Centre (CPIC) in 2003.

Academic Qualifications

Bishop Prof. Augustine Annor-Yeboah had a strong academic foundation alongside his spiritual calling.
He obtained his WASCE ‘O’ Level Certificate from Dormaa Secondary School (1969–1974) and later completed his WASCE ‘A’ Level at the same institution (1974–1979).
He earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A. Hons.) degree in Economics and Geography from the University of Ghana, Legon (1976–1979).

In recognition of his theological scholarship and ministerial impact, he received two honorary Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees in Theology:
1991 – Pentecostal College, Tuskegee, Alabama (Honorary)
2014 – Dayspring Christian University, USA & Ghana (Honorary)
In 2014, he was appointed Professor of Theology by the Association of Christian Therapists, DCU, USA, based on life experience and ministerial contributions.

Professional and Teaching Career

Before fully entering ministry, Bishop Annor-Yeboah built an extensive career in education.
He began teaching as a pupil teacher for three years after completing his ‘O’ Level examinations. In 1976, he served for six months as Executive Officer at the Anglican Education Unit in Sunyani before proceeding to university.
After graduation, he completed his National Service as a teacher at Berekum Post-Secondary Teacher Training School (1979–1980), teaching Geography and Economics.

He later served as:
Graduate Teacher at Grammar School, Ibodi, Oyo State, Nigeria (1980–1984)
Graduate Teacher (Superintendent) at West Africa Secondary School (1984–1986)
Remedial Teacher at CIBUSCO Remedial Training School (1984–1986)
Throughout his teaching years, he was known for academic excellence, discipline, and leadership.

Ministerial Calling and Leadership

In 1986, he became a full-time Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, a calling he faithfully fulfilled until his transition to glory on 26th June 2014.

His ministerial journey included:
